My trailer is 7x14 and has barn doors.
Trailer ramp door vs barn doors.
Went with a foldable aluminum atv ramp 4 x 7 over 1 000 lb capacity.
I have used 5 trailers with ramps and after going barn doors i would never go back.
I can leave one side or the other closed when it s a rainy day and help keep the rain out of the trailer.
I suggest a latch lock system like the universal cam door lock for enclosed trailers 1 keeper 383200 this will use a 3 4 inch diameter pipe that you ll have to get at a local hardware store but the bridge type keeper prevents accidental opening and ensures safe locking action.
I went with bi fold ramps.
I can park my trailer in my garage extra deep 9 high door and open the barn doors w o a problem.
I bought a 49 6 x 6 aluminum channel ramp that easily bolts to the roof bows in the ceiling of trailer.
A ladder bar shaped bi fold added plywood panels screwed down i am like bandit.
It would be a pain and probably not possible to open the ramp door inside my garage.
Want to get some different perspectives.
When i ordered my carmate back in 2002 i went with barn doors and never looked back.
Also provides a little privacy when needed.
Which style do you think is more practical and why.
With the deck enclosure it gives my little 6x12 trailer an additional 6 x 6 room on the back to be a screen room storage room or space for the grand kids to.
Some of the customers homes have short driveways no room for a ramp door.
There s really no situation to need a ramp unless your a landscaper.
